A Thrilling Year:

Even for a bunch of car guys and that thrive on going fast, the end of the year also seems to arrive sooner than we feel like it should. But it’s our favorite time of the year – a little down time to spend with family and friends, indulge in the season’s finest treats (nog!!!) and get ready to dump the clutch on a new year.

We can’t finish the year without a quick check of the rear view mirror. So here, in no particular order, are some of our favorite things from 2013:

“Shaker” hood: In the glory days of the muscle car era, the shaker hood scoop let everyone know that your Mopar ride packed some serious horsepower. Some 40 years later, that attitude is back. The active scoop on top the 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 funnels outside air through a cold air induction and low-restriction air filter. The “Shaker” hood arrives with the Mopar ’14 Challenger and Dodge Challenger R/T, and can be retrofitted into some earlier Challengers.

Mopar Drag N Brag: Forget those candy games. With Mopar Drag N Brag you get to use your iPad or iPhone to match wits with some of the NHRA’s best drivers – such as 2013 Pro Stock champ Jeg Coughlin Jr. and Funny Car star Matt Hagan. The more you race and win, the more points you collect to make your car faster.

NHRA dominance: Speaking of drag racing, Mopar power dominated with NHRA Pro Stock category in 2013 with Jeg Coughlin Jr. winning the fifth Pro Stock championship of his career and defending Pro Stock champ Allen Johnson taking second place. It was the first time Mopar won back-to-back championships in Pro Stock in more than two decades. And in the Funny Car division, Matt Hagan rode five event wins during the season to second place in the standings. The Mopar racers get back on track for a new NHRA season in February.

Scat Pack is back: Mopar worked with our friends at Dodge to help revive the Scat Pack club, which brings a set of performance upgrades to the Dodge Challenger, Charger and Dart. The Scat Packs are factory designed and engineered for the driver who craves more performance and wants the peace of mind. From cold air induction and brake upgrades to reworked cylinder heads and updated engine controllers, the Scat Pack puts the rumble in your ride.

Such a deal: Because you’re here, we know that your car, truck or SUV is more than just a daily conveyance. You choose your Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Truck or Fiat vehicle because you have a passion for driving, and driving passionate vehicles. And the Mopar coupon library makes it easier and affordable to stay on top of the little things that keep your ride performing at its peak. The library takes into account where you live and the time of year to tailor its offers to your needs. Check it out today.

Mopar Custom Shop: We know that plenty of Mopar fans love to customize their vehicle, to “make it their own.” The Mopar Custom Shop program takes many of the most popular upgrades and gets them installed at the factory. That way your ride is truly ready to go when it gets to the dealership, and the cost of the upgrades can be included in the vehicle purchase transaction, and come with a factory-backed warranty.

Jeep Performance Parts: Speaking of custom parts and accessories, Jeep owners are big fans up upgrading their vehicles. Making that easier, and maintaining the brand’s legendary trail-tested toughness, is the Jeep Performance Parts portfolio. Mopar boss Pietro Grolier says it best: “We created our new Jeep Performance Parts portfolio for extreme off-road Jeep fanatics.”

Mopar ’14: Looking ahead to the new year, we see the fifth installment of the annual Mopar special edition vehicle. The Mopar ’14 is based on the Dodge Challenger, upfitted with features such as the “Shaker” hood scoop and custom interior trim. There’s a choice of two colors – black or white – and some custom options. But this will be a rare car – only 100 copies will be built. Look for more details early in 2014 about the Mopar ’14 Challenger, and be ready to move quickly to get yours.

It’s been a great year for us at Mopar and he hope it was good for you, too. Enjoy the holidays.
