Downtown Golden, Colorado, will become the center of the Mopar® universe later this month as the 16th annual Mile High Block Party comes to town.

The Mopar Mile-High Block Party takes place July 20, 2017, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., but Mopar enthusiasts from around the world will converge on the Centennial State for a full weekend of racing fun as the 38th annual Mopar® Mile-High NHRA Nationals rev up nearby in Morrison, Colorado, at Bandimere Speedway.

Trust us when we say: If you live by the “Mopar or No Car” creed, you do not want to miss the Block Party. It’s a fun time for the whole family (even your #MoPets).

Washington Avenue, right in the heart of downtown Golden, is the place to be. As soon as you walk through the main gate at the intersection of Washington and 11th Street, you’ll find plenty of awesome Mopar gear available to purchase. You’ll also find Leah Pritchett’s Dodge Challenger Drag Pak. Test your skills with the slot car races and a reaction time game, and check out the many fun things available through the Snap-On Tools display. And while you are over there, be on the lookout for the Lakewood Fire Department’s vintage 1953 Dodge Hemi Fire Engine!

If Matt Hagan’s Funny Car catches your eye between 12th and 13th Street, you’ve found the Shell/Mopar Express Lane section. In addition to Matt’s Funny Car, you can check out some of the awesome display vehicles across the street in the Larry H. Miller Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge and Ram area. Larry H. Miller is the only place you can get this year’s commemorative Block Party T-shirt as well as some other cool Mopar gear. While you’re in the area, be sure to sign up for your chance to win $45,000 toward the purchase of any new FCA vehicle.

Renowned gearhead, Speed TV personality and Denver DJ Willie B. will be your MC for the evening, and he’ll get things popping from the main stage, located on the southwest corner of Washington & 13th Street. Make sure to wear your dancing shoes, though: Willie B. won’t be on the mic the whole night — the Steve Thomas Band will take the stage to play some tunes. The Steve Thomas Band specializes in ’80s covers but dabbles in a little bit of everything, and they make sure that you have fun while they do it!

Across from the main stage, near Starbucks and Woody’s, NHRA fans will be in their glory when they get a chance to meet our Mopar drivers and get autographs from 6:45-7:45. Fast Jack Beckman will have his race car on display nearby at the Infinite Hero area, between 13th and 14th right by Table Mountain Inn, where you can learn more about what the Infinite Hero Foundation is all about. And across from that, the Dodge Demon awaits you. Be one of the first to get behind the wheel to take it for a virtual ride down the strip in Dodge’s Demon simulator.

And no need to worry about being hungry or thirsty while you are there. Table Mountain Inn will have food and beer tents throughout the Block Party. Papa John’s Pizza will also be there with their pizza and will be donating all proceeds to benefit the local chapter of Boy Scouts of America. And of course, all of Washington Avenue’s restaurants and watering holes will be open and ready for you!

Needless to say, those who are in town and love Mopar should race on over to downtown Golden Thursday night for the the Mopar Mile-High Block Party, the unofficial kickoff of the weekend’s Mopar Mile-High Nationals . If you go, be sure to let us know and share your pictures on social media by using #MoparBP17 or #MoParty.
